Game of Thrones: More death, but let’s face it, what did we expect?

The hit HBO American television show Game of Thrones is known for its shocking content, with the full frontal nudity, overt sex scenes and gruesome deaths. However, last night the blood thirsty nature of the show hit whole new heights leaving much of its audience in shock over the events witnessed.

Spoiler Alert (if you haven’t read the books!) Robb Stark, his pregnant wife Talisa of Volantis, and mother, Catelyn Stark, are all murdered in the penultimate episodeThe Red Wedding‘: Talisa of Volantis’s murder being most brutal, as she is stabbed continually in the stomach. In true Game of Thrones fashion, no one is safe, taking audiences back to the end of series one with the shocking death of Ned Stark played by Sean Bean.

Too much blood and not enough love? Or maybe this is what television needs, a show that is shocking, intriguing and doesn’t follow the generic conventions of most dramas. With its increasing number of fans, we here at Gossipdrip think Game of Thrones is ticking all the right boxes.
