It’s been a big few months for Jennifer Lawrence. Not only has she lit up the red carpet at all the award ceremonies she’s attended, but she is now the face of Miss Dior, taking over from Mila Kunis.

The award season is in full flow, with Lawrence nominated for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook alongside Bradley Cooper, and she’s already snared a Golden Globe. With just a day until she graces the red carpet as a nominee in the Best Actress category of the Oscars, Dior have chosen to release the images of her first campaign as Miss Dior for their handbag line.

Most famous for her turn as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, Lawrence looks sultry and sophisticated in some of the pieces from the Dior ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo, the outfits were designed by creative director Raf Simons.

‘It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion,’ Lawrence said ‘It’s impossible to be in the industry without getting even the slightest introduction to fashion.’ Simons was said to be struck by Lawrence’s ‘youth and her classic beauty, but also her force of character and the complexity she’s capable of embodying…’

The ads will be seen in Numero magazine this month, with more due in April.
