OMG of the Week!: French mag publishes topless pics of Kate Middleton!

The media uproar of Prince Harry’s naked Vegas photos has had a sudden uproar with this recent Royal scandal!

French magazine ‘Closer’– which has been confused with the Uk version, but is thankfully not affiliated with the same editorial franchise–decided to print pictures of the Duchess sunbathing on holiday with Prince William at the French chateau of the Queen’s nephew, Lord Linley.

Shot by a British photographer, the pictures were snubbed by the British media in light of the recent journalistic faux-pas of The Sun printing that picture of Prince Harry in Las Vegas.

The website describes the pictures as depicting our royal sweetheats¬†“like you have never seen them before. Gone are the fixed smiles and the demure dresses. On holiday Kate forgets everything.”

Furious: Kate and Wills are considering legal action over topless shots

A scathing and very justified statement from St. James’ Palace from the Duke and Duchess, via a spokesperson said:

“Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner. The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so. Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”

The last thing you’d want is to be papped whilst evening out those tan lines, especially as Kate and Will have been on an incessant tour of public appearances recently on their tour of the Far East.

Is this where interest becomes no-holds-barred obsession? With Kate seeking to take legal action at the pictures, is this reaction too far also? After all, shouldn’t such prying come with the territory of being a royal newly wed?

What do you think?
