Move over Heidi Klum, Rihanna is taking the hot seat as executive producer of her own fashion reality show, setting out to find Britain’s next big designer.

Working with Henry Holland, Nicola Roberts and other big music and fashion names, Rihanna is offering young designers the chance to design an on-stage outfit for her performance at London’s Wireless Festival in July.

Our favourite Vogue blogger, Henry Holland admitted in an online interview: “I wish I had been lucky enough to be able to do something like this when I was starting out. It’s a tough industry to crack so it’s going to take more hard work than they can even imagine as well as masses of creative flair and a genuine love of fashion. Working with Nicola and Rihanna is just the icing on the cake and should make things a lot more fun!”

The show is filmed over a series of 10 weeks and will challenge the designers to create outfits for a host of different musicians and celebrities, the winner going on to design Rihanna’s Hyde Park performance outfit. This gives the winner a springboard for a future career, with their work being shown on one of the most famous women in the world at an event that will gain worldwide coverage.

Rihanna told Sky Living: “I have been very fortunate to work with some truly amazing designers and stylists throughout my career, and they have been instrumental in making sure my creative vision reaches the stage. I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the course of the show.”

The show will air on Sky Living this summer.
