If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days then you may not have heard about the shocking departure of the angel-voiced Ella Henderson, being voted of this years X Factor on Sunday evening.

On ITV1’s This Morning the 16-year-old told presenter Holly Willoughby that she was “massively gutted” she was no longer in the running to be crowned winner of the singing competition. Mentor Tulisa believes the public assumed Ella was safe this week and therefore failed to vote for her, claiming that everyone expected she would make it to the final. It’s hard to deny that she delivers every week often putting fellow contestants to shame.

After performing in the sing-off with James Arthur, another favourite to win the competition, the judges were split on their decision regarding who to send home. The competition was taken to deadlock where it was revealed Ella had received the fewest public votes and would have to leave. With acts such as Rylan Clark and Christopher Maloney sailing through to next week’s live show the judges were all visibly outraged, along with the viewing public. Many took to Twitter to vent their anger at this week’s result, unable to understand how such a talented singer had left the show.

With fans such as Adele backing the her, Ella will surely be able to pursue her career as a successful recording artist.

What are your thoughts? Who will you be voting for now?
