Going Global: The world’s HOTTEST new designers

BRAZIL – Patricia Bonaldi

…or PatBo for short. PatBo hit the Gossipdrip radar after Ellie Goulding wore one of stunning designs in Cannes. We think the dress worn by Ellie was possibly one of weaker designers. Not because we hate it – we ADORE it – but simply because her AW13 line is so damn good! Whilst her SS13 collection compromised of pastel tones and delicate layers to give it a romantic edge, the AW13 collection swapped pretty pastels for darker berry hues and while the first collection said girly and cute this collection screams ladylike and oozes glamour.

THE US – Veronica Beard

Her name may not be as exotic as PatBo’s and her designs are nowhere near as decadent but in the crazy world of fashion it’s sometimes quite refreshing to find a collection you can actually wear on your average day. Veronica’s AW13 collection was influenced by cowgirls and the Wild West – it’s better than it sounds. The collections featured heavy layers made up of cosy jackets, boots and blazers, a preppy meets traditional look. Take a peek if you’re still not convinced…

ITALY – Giulietta

Italian fashion house Giulietta was established in 2011 by Sofia Sizzi. Sofia is only 30 and as well as a clothing line under her belt, she’s worked Gucci, Michael Kors and Calvin Klein. Her collection embodies simple chic worn by Hollywood legends of times gone by. Block colour. mid length hems and elegant silhouettes – this collection is the epitome of  sophistication.

RUSSIA – Ulyana Sergeenko

Russia is not a country known for it’s fashion sense but Ulyana Sergeenko is set to change that. Already famous among the bloggerati, Ulyana is slowly making a name for herself on the red carpet too, with some of her designs being worn at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Ulyana’s SS13 collection is fun with a vampy edge created by hourglass silhouettes. Capes, wide brim hats and peplum features reveal Ulyana’s folklore inspiration. We are loving the Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretal vibe going on in the two right hand outfits below!

NIGERIA – Tiffany Amber

Tiffany Amber got rave reviews over her SS13 collection at NY Fashion Week. Her aim was to prove African prints can be high end instead of  just high street. She achieved her objective and impressed Gossipdrip and the FROW. Floaty dresses with a thigh split to rival Angelina made from light chiffon and silk fabrics decorated with bold prints make this a lively and exciting range. There are also some more tailored dresses and jumpsuits suitable for workwear.
