Kate and Kim wow at Wimbledon

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally took their places in the royal box at SW19 just in time to watch the men’s quarter finals. After days of speculation Kate rocked up to cheer on our Andy in her fabulous Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen nautical dress. Kate previously wore this dress on her visit to Canada and has been criticized for wearing clothes more than once. However I find it refreshing – it shows she has an ounce of normality about her! Kate carried on flying the flag for British fashion by teaming a cute clutchbag from Jaegar with her outfit. At £150 it’s slightly above my budget!

Despite sticking to the safety of her nautical dress, Kate made a change from her usual nude courts by swapping them for £500 Prada navy courts (daring, eh?!) These matched perfectly with the darker stitch of her knitted dress as well as her stunning engagement ring which were complimented by her priceless sapphire and diamond earrings. On the opposite side of the court, Kim Sears, proud girlfriend of Scot sensation Andy Murray, could not be dressed more differently from sophisti-Kate. In her loose denim shirt and skinny jeans, she looked more Kate Moss than Kate Middleton, nevertheless she still looked great and almost managed to steal the spotlight from the future Queen of England.

Unlike Kate, Kim’s items of clothing could all be found on the High Street which is probably why she decided to go all out on the accessories. She added an element of bling to her outfit with a silver Rolex, costing over £5,000 (!) and a collection of Pandora bracelets. For arm candy, she chose a gorgeous brown Mulberry bayswater bag but my favourite part of her outfit by far was her Ray Ban aviators. The colour of the lenses mirrored her luscious dip-dyed locks and were well suited to her skin tone. Her hair was also stunning. Although Kate’s barnet was the most lust-after last year, Kim’s loose hint-of-a-kink hair looked sleek, stylish and effortless and a lot more easy to achieve at home than Kate’s mane.

The good news is that Andy made it through to the semi-finals so, fingers crossed, Kim has more fashion treats in store for us!
