Rihanna’s famously has had lots of different hairstyles in the past few years, and rivals Lady Gaga for the amount of constant changes to her do.  It comes as no surprise that she’s ditched the pixie cut for long extensions with a shaved section, which she debuted on the Rolling Stone cover this month.

The new issue of Rolling Stone, which was published yesterday, sees Rihanna opening up about her reconciliation with Chris Brown. The move to reunite has shocked many of Rihanna’s fans, including Lena Dunham who decried Rihanna’s decision as not being a good rolemodel for many of her young fans, but Rihanna defends Brown “He made a mistake, and he’s paid his dues,” she added “He’s paid so much. And I know that’s not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.”

The past four years since the 2009 assault, just before the Grammys, has seen varied speculation about the status of their relationship. Brown completed community service after pleading guilty to assault, and a restraining order was put in place to stop him coming within fifty yards of RiRi, but this was relaxed to a level one order in 2011. Rihanna has since posted several snaps of the couple together on Instagram which suggested that they might be back together. They were spotted spending Christmas Day together at an NBA basketball game which affirmed to the world that Rihanna had finally forgiven Chris for his actions. She does add, “When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” and further went on to say, “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

Rihanna admits to punishing Brown even though she still loved him “I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks.” And adds that he doesn’t having the luxury of doing something like that again, “That’s just not an option.” She also said “I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.” The resounding sentiment from the interview is that Rihanna wants to be happy, indicating that Chris Brown is happiness for her, she insists “Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
