Jared Leto is the latest in the line of stars to dramastically change their body for a movie role.

Looking very lean, Leto is set to play a transvestite suffering from the HIV virus for the Dallas Buyers Club movie. This is not the first time that Leto has changed his body for a movie role, he previously bulked up for Chapter 27 in 2006.

Leto has admitted that:

‘Your body goes through weird stages.

‘Sometimes it’s hard to hold on to water. But for me, it’s not about the most weight I can lose, it’s more to represent the character. Historically, people have done it for pursuit of self, to achieve a meditative state, so I’m hoping for that. It’s not necessarily a bad thing.’

In addition to his huge weight loss, the Thirty Second to Mars frontman has also had his eyebrows and bodyhair waxed for the role.

Jared Leto is not the only member of the cast to have undergone a dramatic transformation for the role. Fellow co-star, Matthew McConaughey has also lost over 40lbs to play real-life electrician Ron Woodroof, who also suffer froms the HIV virus.

40lbs to play Ron Woodroof, a real-life electrician who smuggled illegal medication after contracting the disease.

The movie is set to be released in 2013.
