Known to many of you from BBC’s “The Voice” Tyler James rocked back onto the scene at a ‘SOLD OUT’ Shepherd’s Bush Empire this week and he did not disappoint!

Tyler came onto my radar way before the BBC show as I was lucky enough to see him when touring with Nastasha Bedingfield in what seems another lifetime ago. He caught my attention and his original album ‘The Unlikley Lad’ is still well played on my iPod and is worth a listen if you have not heard it. I was quite amazed to see him on The Voice as I thought he’d dropped off the face of the earth like so many artists do when dropped by their Record Label, but you can’t stop real talent shining through!

After finishing runner-up to Leanne Mitchell on The Voice, Tyler released new album ‘A Place I Go’ at the end of last month and you can see the passion and effort that has gone into it when he performs the songs live.

Opening with ‘No Comedown’ he seemed a little nervous at first and admitted to be “bricking it” but soon found his stride and put in some outstanding vocals for someone who supposedly had a cold.  There are so many artists these days who’s gigs leave you feeling disappointed, with lip-syncing and big dance numbers which leaves their singing in tatters, so it was nice to see someone go back to basics with just their band and great vocals. He even had time to throw in old favourite  ‘Why Do I Do’ as well as doing a smooth cover of Usher’s ‘U Remind Me’.

One of the best numbers of the night was ‘Higher Love’ the cover which was his fans’ favourite from The Voice. Now with the platform from the show, there is no reason why his career can’t go from strength to strength, as the talent is clearly there for everyone to see in buckets loads.
